Will Young: Gay Idol
Way back in 2002, Will Young was the first ever winner of Pop Idol, the show that spawned American Idol. This week, the openly gay singer-songwriter unleashes his first U.S. single, "Leave Right Now." The song's not exactly new to British fans. Young released "Leave Right Now" in the U.K. in 2003 and it went gold the same year. So he's kinda a big deal across the pond.
But how will he fare stateside? Well, we like the song. And Young is pretty cute. Totes cuter than Adam Lambert. But quality pop songs and sex appeal haven't really helped Robbie Williams conquer America, have they? We'll see what happens...
