Unopenly Gay Zachary Quinto: It Gets Better
Indisputably adorable actor Zachary Quinto has accomplished something we would have thought impossible before today: he's recorded and posted an "It Gets Better" video while managing to remain in the closet.
Does anyone else find this really...problematic? These videos, spearheaded by Savage Love columnist Dan Savage, are meant to show troubled gay youth that there is something to live for by providing living, breathing examples of healthy, happy, OUT and proud adults that they can look up to. It's great that Quinto feels strongly enough about this to even post the video, but we still can't help but feel that his refusal to come out of the closet publicly it tantamount to telling kids that you have to stay closeted in order to be successful.
