Raising the Bar: Sick Cell
Next Magazine's latest Sound Check column spotlights one of our favorite new New York bands, the New Wave/80s goth-inspired Sick Cell. You may recognize dreamy frontman Angelo Tursi, drummer Eric White and keyboardist Shane LaRue from the now-defunct disco-rock band Street Hero. After that band bit the dust, the trio reconvened to work on songs Tursi had been writing last winter. The result was Sick Cell's airy, dark, yet infinitely catchy tunes.
