New Crush: Bill Clegg
Meet our new crush: author and former crack addict Bill Clegg.
Ok, maybe the tone of this blog entry is totally wrong. After all, Clegg's just published memoir, Portrait of an Addict as a Young Man, isn't exactly light fare. We've already read reviews in Vogue and Vanity Fair, and heard and intervew with the author on NPR, and by all accounts, Portrait is a profoundly honest, moving book that doesn't shy away from the gritty, graphic details of Clegg's descent into addiction. It's apparently a stunningly beautiful work of autobiography, and we're def gonna read it, and we'll probs cry and cry and cry.
But the thing is...Bill Clegg is just so goddamn cute! And totes gay. The publicity surrounding Portrait has all been very sober, very somber. Like, this wicked depressing interview:
So depressing, right? And yet all we see is this cute dude, who has a crazy successful book out and hopefully has his shit together now and it makes us all giggly and giddy and we're drawing hearts on our notebooks! Like, it's probably a really bad idea to get involved with a former addict—talk about issues!—but, you know, if you're out there, Bill, give us a call!
