Kings of Leon vs. Glee!

Dag, y'all! This shit just got nasty! Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill is gunnin' for Glee creator Ryan Murphy. Followill tweeted a response to Murphy's criticisms of the band after they declined to allow their music to be used in an upcoming episode of the Fox hit:
"Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating 7yr olds how to say fuck."
That tweet has raised accusations of homophobia against Followill who has since deleted the post, tweeting:
Ok, cool. Apology accepted. But here's the thing, Nate: you may not think you're homophobic or misogynistic, but the language you used to insult and belittle someone is definitely misogynistic, probably homophobic, in this case in particular. And this is the reason is this: you've employed stereotypically feminine activities and attributes as your mode of attack, as if they are something to be ashamed of. You are, in effect, saying that getting manicures—culturally associated with women—is silly and shameful. Why is engaging in stereotypically feminine activities shameful? You must think it is, because that's how you've chosen to taunt someone. Is that what you think of women? That they're silly, that there is something inherently wrong with the feminine? Like the Madonna song said—and we can't believe we're quoting this either—"It's ok to be a boy. But for a boy to look like a girl is degrading. Because you think that being a girl is degrading." Run and tell that!
We think you're probably an ok guy, Nate, but you really should think more about the language you use and why you use it. Words have meanings. The ways we use words have meanings. Think about that.
Also, Ryan Murphy, chill the fuck out!
