John Blair Wants YOU!
John Blair and Co. are trying to re-open XL in Hell's Kitchen, and they need your support. Tonight, the community board meets to decide whether to approve XL's liquor/cabaret liscence. Apparently there hasn't been a new liquor/cabaret liscence approved for a gay nightlife venue in this city in five year, and Blair and the gang are expecting a lot of anti-nightlife party poopers to show up. That's why they need as many people as possible who support gay nightlife in NYC to show up as well.
Now, we were never that into XL when it was open on 16th Street in Chelsea, but we are fans of new nightlife venues, new gigs for our DJ and bartender and go-go pals. And we're definitely in favor of taking this city back from the no-fun, sanitized, Giuliani-era leftovers who make it so effin' hard to have a good time!
