Jane Says... More gossip!

More gossip, more dirt, more trouble!

By Jane Lane

So it's been a while since we've leaked some information. Of course, after a certain promoter decided to throw a fit over an item we ran that he found less than flattering (and after I was deleted from his Facebook friendship) we took some time in the woods to think about my existence as an Internet asshole, a.k.a. nobody. And we decided, fuck it. More gossip, more frequently. Let's get started...

Nightlife personality, Celso, was rumored to have been attacked last Saturday night on the subway. Celso reported via Facebook that he fought off his attacker, but not one person on the train ventured in to assist.

We hear that Tiana Reeves was having words with the security at 57. Tiana pleasantly asked security if a friend could accompany her toward the back of the club—you know, the V.I.P. section—which prompted the guard to get fresh with her. Reeves, always on point, raised her hand to diffuse the tension, which only caused the security guard to become even more agitated. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Speaking of 57, last week we were also sitting next to Shequida (out of drag) who was speaking to Devlyn Disguise who looked pretty flawless. Shequida turns to Devlyn, after a few Jack Daniels and says, “You're beautiful. You know I'm into ky-ky, right?" The bitch winks, and walks away. Fabulous!

There seems to be some in-fighting amongst nightlife’s new kids. Promoter Diva Steve Sandy recently went off on a rant about Andy AK 47 Kay due to the now less-than-popular title “club kid.” The pair sparked a lengthy debate about the status of New York nightlife, and where it's headed.

After a long hiatus from the downtown scene, Dina Marie made an appearance this week at The F Word looking lean, mean and ready to be seen. Speaking of The F Word, in my own tragic form, after an attendant was rudely mopping the floor, we were seen falling down the stairs as we waved to Raven Oh in sheer excitement. Seriously, who mops the floor at 1 a.m.? Really?

Drag queen Misty Meaner, was seen having one too many cocktails at The Ritz. A concerned Epiphany was trying to look after her, all while performing during The Blonde Leading the Blonde with Sherry Vine, when onlookers saw Misty screaming at her boyfriend. Moments later, she stormed out of the venue, and her boyfriend came back in with his forehead busted open and bleeding. We caught up with Misty a few days later, who had informed us that she was taking a break from drinking. A few days later, we were sharing a bottle of rum together!

We heard through the grapevine that my favorite New York City drag queen, Sherry Vine, has been warned to drop the Lady Gaga parodies. Her close friends are rumored to have warned her that she may soon get a reputation as a Lady Gaga impersonator, which could lead to career suicide, in the event that Gaga flat lines. Nevertheless, we love Sherry and we were at Barracuda last Sunday for the world premiere of her new parody, "Make Me Moan," poking fun at Gaga's "Telephone" video. And guess who picked the name for this song! Uh huh, right here baby!

Finally, in something of a shameless plug, but also a big thank you, we wanted to thank AntiTwink, as well as all the drags queens, go-gos and promoters who are helping tonight at The Yard to benefit the 25th annual AIDS Walk New York. As someone who works tirelessly, behind the scenes with an incredible staff to manage this event, it's so incredible to see all the different personalities willing to come out in support of the event. So don't forget to register at aidswalk.net/newyork and come support all of us!
