Dear Madonna...
Kelly Gorman
Dear Madonna,
What to say... Well, let's start with this: You are amazing, talented, groundbreaking and trend-setting. Nearly every gay the world-round is obsessed with you. But here's the deal. You started out as a child, pumping out fun dance hits that everyone loved. As you matured in the 90's, so did your music. You began to display a personal and artistic depth. The music was still fun though. You achieved a sort of balance with tracks like "Deeper and Deeper," off of Erotica.
What happened though?? I mean, with the exceptions of a few tracks, basically your last 15 years worth of work has been... forgettable. Hard Candy?? Really??? What were you thinking, working with a producer like Timblaland, who is much better suited to work with newer, younger and fresher artists, who have a modern, more exciting sound?
Honestly, I feel like you don't know when to quit. It's not like you need the money, and your fans will still love you if you do not tour as often, and when you do, you pull out your greatest hits. I still love you, but this new track... girl. And this new track. I mean, baby...
And then there's the SUPERBOWL?!?! What the fuck?!?
Girl, I think it's time you gave it a rest. Stop trying to compete with the kids. And gays, I know she is your Jesus, but how about we stop shitting ourselves every time she and all of the other has-beens phones it in. It makes it seem like our people have bad taste. There is plenty of amazing, ground-breaking new music out there. All you have to do is listen for it.
Yours,
Kelly
Ps. I still love you and everything you stand for. You are still my Jesus.
