Cosmo Jarvis: Gay Pirate
By Jeff Chatterton
AfterElton has a great interview with twenty-one year old singer-songwriter Cosmo Jarvis about his song "Gay Pirate", a sea shanty foot-stomper about a pirate in love with another buccaneer named Sebastian. Cosmo himself is straight, but is clearly comfortable enough with his sexuality to play the protagonist in the video, kissing the guy in the video, and making out with dudes in general :
"I've never been shy about that kind of stuff. I'm not gay, but growing up we had this game called Gay Man Chicken, where two guys face each other, and go to kiss, to make out seriously, and whoever wimps out first is the one with the problem about being a homosexual. The guy who does it doesn't have a problem with his sexuality, because it's just kissing a guy. So it was just not a big deal."
We would play Gay Man Chicken with Cosmo Jarvis any day.
