Are We Ready for a "Grimier" Britney?

It looks like Britney's barefoot trips into public restrooms are finally having some effect on her music. In an interview with Billboard.com yesterday, producer Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald—the man behind Ke$ha's "Tick-Tok" and Katy Perry's "California Gurls" and the latest producer to prop Brit-Brit up in a recording booth—had this to say about the singer's as yet untitled follow-up to 2008's Circus:

"I want [the sound] to get harder in some ways," said Gottwald, "and maybe a little more deep into electronic -- grimier."

Grimier. Whatever that means. Still, it will be interesting to see what Britney has to offer, as this will be her first album since Lady Gaga literally changed the face of pop music.
