2.5 Hours at Frisky Disco

By John Russell

It’s been a long time coming, but AntiTwink.com’s flagship party, Frisky Disco, is finally back where it belongs: Brooklyn! After a super successful stint at The Hose last year, the party relaunched at Greenpoint’s Blackout, and of course, we were there.

Frisky DJ and AntiTwink impresario Ernie Cote spun a set for a crowd that was equal parts BK gay boys and Greenpoint hipsters. We sipped Kir Royals and snapped photos with Brooklyn socialite—and former Frisky go-go slut—Jeff Little Horse, while rising boylesque artist Richert “Rocket” Schnorr doled out the $1 shots in itty-bitty hot pants. And, of course, you know it’s a gonna be a hell of a party when three of the Daisy Spurs show up; Brian Maci, Jackie Carlson and Matthew Daily were on hand to rip the dance floor a new one.

Making another triumphant return was the signature Frisky Disco fox mask, providing oh so many photo ops! Foxy with cute guy #1. Foxy with champagne flute. Foxy with cute boy #2. Foxy in the bathroom stall. Foxy making out with cute boy #3. You get the picture.

At some point, DJ Ernie’s set went from dance pop remixes and mash-ups to 90s nostalgia pop. We’re talking “Waterfalls” and Old Dirty Bastard and Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy.” And Soul Decision! Does anyone else remember Soul Decision? Whether they did or now, the kids packed that dance floor! Bearded faeries and party girls, tattooed Brooklyn fags and straight roommates. They all crowded in front of the DJ booth to bump and grind!

At one point, we looked around and saw that several guys had spontaneously shed their pants and were running around in undies. And then there were the three boys whom we can only describe as an inevitable menage et trios.

Yeah, just like old times. Frisky is back!
